Alpler Magrone (Macaroni with Bacon) image

I initially posted this on another site for a world tour game. From A Taste of Switzerland by Sue Style. Times are approximate and do not include time for cooking the macaroni and potatoes.

Number Of Ingredients 9

10 oz elbow macaroni, cooked
1 lb potatoes, sliced and cooked
5 oz bacon, chopped
7 oz cream
salt and pepper, to taste
nutmeg, to taste
3 oz sbrinz cheese or swiss cheese, grated
1 medium onion, chopped
2 Tbsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. Saute bacon until crisp.
  • 2. Add cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  • 3. Mix in macaroni and potatoes.
  • 4. Layer into a baking dish.
  • 5. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 10 minutes at 350F.
  • 6. Meanwhile saute onion in butter until golden.
  • 7. Serve sprinkled with the onion.
