Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/4 c warm water
2 pkg yeast
3 Tbsp sugar, divided
1 1/4 c milk
4 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
4-5 c bread flour

Steps:

  • 1. Place warm water in a large mixing bowl; sprinkle yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar on top and let yeast proof. Place milk, butter, 2 tablespoons sugar on top and let yeast proof. Place milk, butter, 2 tablespoons sugar, and salt in microwave cup or bowl. Heat until butter, sugar, and salt are melted and dissolved. Add to proofed yeast (make sure milk is not too hot).
  • 2. Add enough flour to make soft dough. Knead in mixer, or by hand, about 10 minutes. Put bowl in warm place and let rise about 15 minutes. Punch down; shape into rolls and place on greased baking sheet. Let rise 15 minutes and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

I found the recipe to be a bit confusing. The instructions weren't very clear.

These rolls were a bit too dense for my taste.

These rolls are perfect for sandwiches, sliders, or just eating plain. They're also great for freezing, so I can always have fresh rolls on hand.

I love that this recipe uses simple ingredients that I always have on hand. It's a great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes.

These rolls are so easy to make, even for a beginner baker like me. I was worried they would be too dense, but they were actually light and airy.

I've tried many 60-minute roll recipes, but this one is by far the best. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the rolls turned out perfectly.
