Provided by Jomamma

Number Of Ingredients 3

3 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken
1 (.7 ounce) packet of Italian dressing mix
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 12 inch x 9 inch pan and set aside, and/or it may be preferable to line your dish with aluminum foil as the sugar tends to caramelize while baking. Rinse chicken, pat dry with paper towels. Combine and the dried Italian seasoning mix and the brown sugar, mixing together well. Dip and press the chicken pieces into the mixture, coating front and back and place into your prepared pan, topside of the chicken facing up. Any extra coating that remains can just be sprinkled over the chicken. Cook for 50-60 minutes or until chicken is done turning every 15 min and basting each time with the drippings with the final turn leaving the topside facing up for the last bit of baking.

I love this recipe because it's so versatile. I can use different spices and herbs to create different flavors. I also like to add different vegetables to the skillet, such as onions, peppers, and mushrooms.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover chicken. I usually make a big batch of chicken breasts on the weekend, and then I use them to make this dish during the week. It's a quick and easy way to get a delicious meal on the table.

This recipe is a great starting point, but I like to add a few things to make it my own. I usually add some chopped onion and garlic to the skillet, and I also like to use a mix of herbs and spices. My go-to combination is thyme, rosemary, and paprik

I followed the recipe exactly and the chicken turned out dry and bland. I'm not sure what I did wrong.
