CHAMBORD RASPBERRY MARGARITA

Chambord Raspberry Margarita image

This is a copy cat of Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill from Top Secret Recipes. A little bit of work but I think will be well worth the effort. Makes three 10 1/2 oz drinks. I don't know what the chill time is so I estimated at least 4 hours.

Provided by Carmen B.

Categories     Beverages

Time 4h10m

Yield 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups warm water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
5 ounces montezuma gold tequila
2 1/2 ounces triple sec, liqueur
1 1/2 ounces Chambord raspberry liquor, raspberry liqueur
3 lime wedges

Steps:

  • Combine sugar with warm water in a pitcher and stir or shake until sugar is dissolved. Add lime juice, lemon juice, tequila and triple sec and put the pitcher in the freezer for several hours , until the drink is frozen.
  • When the drink is frozen, use a long spoon to mix it up until it's slushy and smooth. The alcohol in the drink will prevent it from freezing solid so that you can easily break it up by stirring.
  • To make each drink, pour 1/2 oz Chambord into the bottom of a large margarita glass. Pour the frozen margarita over the Chambord and the liqueur will swirl itself into the frozen margarita mix.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and a straw.

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 Tbsp sugar
2 c fresh raspberries (reserve several berries for garnish)
1/2 c grand marnier
1/2 c gold tequila
1 Tbsp sugar
1/4 c fresh lime juice
lime slices for garnish
6 c ice

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh raspberries. If you don't have fresh raspberries, you can use frozen raspberries that have been thawed.
  • If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can use a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Just be sure to shake the jar vigorously for at least 30 seconds.
  • If you don't have lime juice, you can use lemon juice instead. However, lime juice will give your margarita a more authentic flavor.
