Pork Chops With Raspberry Glaze image

My son's fiancée invited us to dinner and served this. She said she wanted to impress the soon to be in-laws. She did impress us, it was delicious. She hesitated to give me the recipe because she didn't want me to know how quick and easy it really was. I told her that it was even more impressive that she could make such a yummy meal in less than 30 minutes.

RASPBERRY GLAZE PORK CHOPS

Categories     Pork     Dinner

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 12

Original recipe makes 4 servingsChange Servings
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried sage, crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 (4 ounce) boneless pork loin chops
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup seedless raspberry jam
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
4 sprigs fresh thyme (optional)

Steps:

  • Directions Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C). In a small bowl, combine crushed thyme, sage, salt, and pepper. Rub evenly over pork chops. Melt butter and olive oil in a nonstick skillet. Cook pork chops for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, turning once. Remove from skillet and keep warm in preheated oven. In the skillet, combine raspberry jam, orange juice, and vinegar. Bring to a boil, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until sauce is reduced to desired consistency (sauce will thicken as it cools). Spoon sauce in a pool onto a serving plate, and top with pork chops. Garnish with sprigs of thyme.

Tips:

  • Selecting high-quality pork chops ensures a flavorful and tender dish. Look for chops that are at least 1 inch thick and have a good amount of marbling.
  • Use fresh raspberries for the glaze. Frozen raspberries can be used, but they will not have the same vibrant color and flavor as fresh berries.
  • To achieve a glossy and flavorful glaze, reduce the raspberry mixture until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  • To prevent the chops from drying out, cook them over medium heat and baste them frequently with the raspberry glaze.
  • Serve the pork chops immediately with the remaining raspberry glaze drizzled on top. You can garnish them with fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for an extra touch of flavor and color.

Conclusion:

The Raspberry Glaze Pork Chops recipe is an easy-to-follow dish that delivers a delightful combination of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. The juicy pork chops are perfectly complemented by the vibrant raspberry glaze, which adds a touch of elegance to this everyday meal. Whether you're cooking for a special occasion or a casual weeknight dinner, these pork chops are sure to impress your family and friends.
