Provided by Craigs Recipes

Categories     < 4 Hours

Time 2h10m

Yield 32 ounces, 6-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 (1 ounce) package dry powder original ranch dressing mix
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 -32 ounce butter pretzel (Usually found at Menards)

Steps:

  • Pour oil over pretzels, shake to coat. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Bake at 200 degrees F for one hour turning over pretzels 2 to 3 times. You can omit cayenne pepper if you want. Add double the cayenne to make them extra spicy.
  • After the pretzels have cooled down, I put them back in the container I bought them in - and you're done.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh buttermilk and sour cream will give your pretzels the best flavor.
  • Proof the dough correctly: This is essential for getting light and airy pretzels. If you don't proof the dough long enough, the pretzels will be dense and chewy. If you proof the dough too long, they will be overproofed and will not rise properly.
  • Boil the pretzels before baking: This step is what gives pretzels their characteristic chewy texture. Make sure the water is boiling rapidly before you add the pretzels. You can add baking soda to the water to help give the pretzels a golden brown color.
  • Bake the pretzels until they are golden brown: This will ensure that they are cooked through. If you bake the pretzels too long, they will be dry and crumbly.
  • Serve the pretzels warm: Freshly baked pretzels are the best! You can serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing or mustard.

Conclusion:

These ranch pretzels are the perfect snack for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The pretzels are soft and chewy, with a delicious ranch flavor. They are also a good source of protein and fiber. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy snack, give these ranch pretzels a try.
