SLOW COOKER RANCH MUSHROOMS

Slow Cooker Ranch Mushrooms image

An easy appetizer for a party or gathering. No one will ever believe there are only three ingredients after experiencing the flavor punch. I leave the mushrooms whole rather than slicing them. Melt in your mouth delicious and will have people coming back for more! Easy, inexpensive, and everyone loves it. If you like, you can replace some of the butter with olive oil. I like to do half cremini and half white button mushrooms. From CD Kitchen.

PARMESAN RANCH MUSHROOMS (SLOW COOKER RECIPE)

Parmesan Ranch Mushrooms (slow cooker recipe) image

Buttery-herby-cheesey mushrooms are a great accompaniment to roasts, steaks or other grilled meats. Or if you really love mushrooms....all by themselves!! Plus this method couldn't be simpler. PICTURE TO FOLLOW! recipe slightly adapted from: http://richestoragsbydori.blogspot.com

Provided by Susan Din

Categories     Other Side Dishes

Time 4h5m

Number Of Ingredients 4

16 oz small/medium button or crimini mushrooms
1 stick unsalted butter
1 pkg (2 tbsp)hidden valley ranch mix
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Brush/wipe mushrooms clean, trimming bottom of stems if needed. If you have large mushrooms cut them in half, or quarters. Drop into a crock pot.
  • 2. In a small pan, melt the butter and whisk in the Ranch dressing mix. Pour over the mushrooms. Sprinkle Parmesan over top.
  • 3. Cover and cook on High for 4 hours. Serve as desired! YUM!

Tips:

  • Select the freshest mushrooms: Choose mushrooms that are firm, plump, and have a vibrant color. Avoid any mushrooms that are bruised or have signs of decay.
  • Clean the mushrooms properly: Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any dirt or debris. Avoid rinsing the mushrooms under running water, as this can absorb water and make them soggy.
  • Slice the mushrooms evenly: Slice the mushrooms into uniform pieces so that they cook evenly. The thickness of the slices will depend on your preference and the recipe you are using.
  • Use a non-stick skillet: A non-stick skillet will help prevent the mushrooms from sticking and burning. If you don't have a non-stick skillet, you can use a regular skillet but be sure to grease it well with butter or oil.
  • Cook the mushrooms over medium heat: Cooking the mushrooms over medium heat will allow them to caramelize and develop their full flavor. Avoid cooking the mushrooms over high heat, as this can cause them to burn.
  • Season the mushrooms generously: Season the mushrooms with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings before cooking. This will help enhance their flavor and make them more delicious.
  • Add some herbs and spices: Adding herbs and spices like garlic, thyme, rosemary, or paprika can enhance the flavor of the mushrooms. Experiment with different combinations to find your favorite.
  • Use a flavorful cooking liquid: If you are using a liquid to cook the mushrooms, such as broth or wine, choose a flavorful liquid that will complement the mushrooms. This will add depth and richness to the dish.

Conclusion:

These delicious and versatile ranch mushrooms are a fantastic addition to any meal. They are perfect as an appetizer, side dish, or even a main course. With their simple preparation and endless flavor possibilities, these mushrooms are sure to become a favorite in your kitchen.
