Time 1h14m

Yield 1 loaf, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup snipped fresh chives
1 ounce packet Hidden Valley Original Ranch Seasoning Mix
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 -5 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup finely chopped shallot
12 ounces beer (room temperature)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a small saute pan, cook shallot and garlic with oil until caramelized; allow to cool.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, Parmesan cheese, chives, Ranch seasoning mix, baking powder, yogurt, and shallot/garlic mixture. Stir in room temperature beer until smooth and pour batter into a well-greased loaf pan.
  • Bake at 375°F for 60-70 minutes or until top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to sit 10 minutes in the pan, then remove and cool on a wire rack.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality bread. A sturdy bread like a baguette or sourdough will hold up well to the toppings and won't get soggy.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of cheese. A blend of mozzarella and cheddar is a classic choice, but you can also try Parmesan, Asiago, or Gruyère.
  • If you don't have a pastry brush, you can use a spoon to spread the butter on the bread. Just be sure to get it evenly coated.
  • If you're using fresh garlic, mince it very finely. You don't want any large pieces that will burn in the oven.
  • Bake the bread until it's golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  • Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the cheese to set and prevent it from becoming runny.

Conclusion:

Ranch garlic bread is a delicious and easy appetizer or side dish that's perfect for any occasion. With its crispy bread, melted cheese, and flavorful ranch seasoning, it's sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty snack, give this recipe a try.
