1 t. Soda
1 C. Butter (Melted)
4 egg yolks
1 and 1/2 C. sugar
3 T. corn starch
2 C. sour cream (12 oz.)
2 C. raisins

Steps:

  • Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, and soda, and pour melted shortening over the top; mix. Pat 2/3 of the mixture into bottom of 9x13 pan. Bake 350 degrees for 15-20 min; cool. Mix egg yolks, sugar, corn starch, sour cream, and raisins and cook until thick; reduce heat and cook 5-10 min stirring constantly to avoid scorching. Pour onto baked crust. Add reserved crumbs and bake at 350 for 20 min.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will ensure that your raisin sour cream bars are flavorful and moist.
  • Make sure to cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter and more tender baked good.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough and dense texture.
  • Be sure to press the crust firmly into the pan. This will help to prevent the crust from crumbling when you cut the bars.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking can result in dry and crumbly bars.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the bars for up to 2 months.

Raisin sour cream bars are a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. With their sweet and tangy flavor, these bars are sure to please everyone at your next gathering. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy dessert, give raisin sour cream bars a try!
