RAINBOW ICE-CREAM

Rainbow Ice-Cream image

I remember making this for the family, when the kids were younger. Even though they are much older now, I think they would still enjoy it. It looks so pretty served in tall glasses. Try using a cheaper ice-cream if making for kids, it still tastes great and is a little more economical. This recipe can also be made ahead, but not more than 2 days. N.B-- M and M's can be used insted of Smarties.

Time 55m

Yield 6-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 liters vanilla ice cream
250 g smarties candies

Steps:

  • Soften ice-cream slightly in a large bowl, and when softened stir in Smarties, but DO NOT overmix.
  • Spoon Smartie ice-cream back into ice-cream container and freeze.
  • When serving try serving the Smartie ice-cream in long tall glasses, and decorate with extra Smarties and a wafer.

Tips:

  • Chill the ice cream base thoroughly before churning. This will help it churn faster and produce a smoother texture.
  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the ice cream will taste.
  • Don't over-churn the ice cream. Over-churning will make the ice cream grainy.
  • If you don't have an ice cream maker, you can still make this recipe. Pour the ice cream base into a metal pan and freeze it for 2-3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Once the ice cream is partially frozen, transfer it to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • To make the rainbow swirl, spoon different colors of ice cream into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe the ice cream into the prepared pan, alternating colors.
  • Freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours before serving. This will give it time to firm up and develop its full flavor.

Conclusion:

This rainbow ice cream recipe is a fun and easy way to make a delicious and impressive dessert. With its vibrant colors and creamy texture, it's sure to be a hit with people of all ages. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give this recipe a try!
