Tips:

  • Use fresh broccoli: Fresh broccoli florets yield the best flavor and texture. If using frozen broccoli, thaw it completely before adding it to the casserole.
  • Don't overcook the broccoli: Broccoli should be tender but still slightly crisp. Overcooked broccoli will become mushy and lose its flavor.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is one of the key ingredients in this casserole, so it's important to use a good quality cheese that melts well. Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and Parmesan cheese are all good choices.
  • Add some extras: Feel free to add other ingredients to the casserole, such as cooked chicken, crumbled bacon, or chopped onion.
  • Make it ahead of time: This casserole can be made ahead of time and reheated when you're ready to serve it. Just assemble the casserole according to the recipe instructions, then cover it and refrigerate for up to 3 days. When you're ready to serve it, bake it according to the recipe instructions.
