Time 15m

Yield 4-5 cups

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (16 ounce) can crabmeat
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (8 ounce) container whipped cream cheese
1/4 cup shredded cheese (any variety, I used a 4 cheese Mexican blend)
1 (3 ounce) package bacon bits (real bacon, NOT imitation)
1/4-1/2 teaspoon chopped cilantro (dried or fresh)
cajun seasoning (I use Tony Chachere's)
garlic powder
onion powder
pepper
salt

Steps:

  • Dump crab meat into a large mixing bowl.
  • If using lump crab meat, break up crab chunks to as small size pieces as you like.
  • Add sour cream and cream cheese and stir until well blended.
  • Add in the shredded cheese, bacon bits, and seasonings and stir together.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, bagel chips, pita chips, or crackers.

Tips:

  • To save time, use pre-cooked crab meat. You can find it in the seafood section of most grocery stores.
  • For a creamier dip, use cream cheese instead of sour cream.
  • Add a bit of spice to your dip with a pinch of cayenne pepper or Old Bay seasoning.
  • Serve your dip with crackers, chips, or vegetables.
  • If you're making your dip ahead of time, store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Crab dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a creamy, flavorful dip that everyone will love. Serve it with crackers, chips, or vegetables, and you're sure to have a hit!
