Tips:

  • Use good quality ground beef for the filling. An 80/20 blend of chuck and sirloin is a good option.
  • Season the ground beef well with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add other spices, such as chili powder, cumin, or paprika, to taste.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the onions and peppers. This will help to prevent them from tearing and making the filling too watery.
  • Cook the ground beef and vegetables over medium heat. This will help to prevent the beef from drying out and the vegetables from burning.
  • Drain any excess grease from the beef and vegetables before adding them to the pie crust.
  • Use a store-bought or homemade pie crust. If you are using a store-bought crust, be sure to pre-bake it according to the package directions.
  • Brush the edges of the pie crust with water before adding the top crust. This will help to seal the crusts together and prevent them from separating.
  • Bake the pie for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  • Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Conclusion:

This quick cheeseburger pie is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight. It is also a great way to use up leftover ground beef. The pie is filled with a flavorful mixture of ground beef, onions, peppers, and cheese, and it is topped with a golden brown crust. Serve the pie with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, fries, or salad.
