Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- 2. Remove the stems form the Mushroom Caps and save for another use. Brush off any dirt from the Mushrooms
- 3. In a small bowl combine the Crab Dip and Parmesan Cheese. Stir together well. This is our filling.
- 4. Place the Mushroom Caps in a 6 x 9 baking dish. If your Mushroom Caps are a bit larger you may need to go up a pan size.
- 5. Fill each Mushroom Cap with the filling.
- 6. Sprinkle the tops of each Mushroom with the Chives or Green Onions. In these pictures I used Chives because I had them in my garden. Green Onions can also be used.
- 7. Bake the Mushrooms in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20-30 minutes. All ovens cook differently so check at 15 minutes. You are looking for the Mushrooms to be cooked and the top to turn slightly brown as you can see in this picture.
- 8. When the Mushrooms are done, remove from oven and transfer to a serving plate.
Tips:
- Choose the right mushrooms. For this recipe, white button mushrooms are best. They are mild in flavor and widely available. However, you can use any type of mushroom you like.
- Use fresh mushrooms. Fresh mushrooms will have a better flavor and texture than canned or dried mushrooms.
- Clean the mushrooms properly. Use a damp paper towel to wipe away any dirt or debris from the mushrooms. Do not rinse the mushrooms under water, as this can make them soggy.
- Slice the mushrooms evenly. This will help them cook evenly.
- Use a large skillet. This will give the mushrooms plenty of room to cook without crowding.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet. If you overcrowd the skillet, the mushrooms will not cook evenly and will release too much liquid.
- Cook the mushrooms over medium heat. This will help them to brown evenly and develop a nice flavor.
- Do not stir the mushrooms too often. Stirring the mushrooms too often will break them up and make them mushy.
- Season the mushrooms to taste. You can use salt, pepper, garlic powder, or any other seasonings you like.
- Serve the mushrooms immediately. Mushrooms are best served hot and fresh. However, you can also store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Conclusion:
This recipe for quick and easy mushrooms is a versatile dish that can be served as a side dish, appetizer, or main course. It is also a great way to use up leftover mushrooms. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a delicious and healthy meal that the whole family will enjoy.
