PUTO

Puto image

This is a nice light snack. Steam times are estimates... sorry, I haven't made these and my friend didn't write down the steam time and it seems not enough instructions on how to steam a muffin pan; they were the size of small muffins. I've been getting comments regarding the ingredients not being authentic. This is just another version of the recipe of which there are many all over the internet...including this one. All I know is that a friend shared this with me because I enjoyed it, and I thought you might too.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your puto.
  • Make sure your rice is well-cooked. If it's not, the puto will be mushy.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the puto tough.
  • Let the puto cool completely before serving. This will help it set and make it easier to slice.
  • Serve the puto with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings include butter, sugar, and grated coconut.

Conclusion:

Puto is a delicious and versatile Filipino rice cake that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's easy to make and can be customized with a variety of toppings. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cook, I encourage you to give puto a try. You won't be disappointed!
