Steps:
- 1. Melt butter with peanut butter and chocolate chips. Add Vanilla. (I do this in the microwave)
- 2. Por chocolate mixture over cereal and toss to coat each peiece..work quickly
- 3. I then put this into a plastic trash bag, add powdered sugar and shake bag to coat. Some people have told me they add other things to thiers such as marshmellows and M&m's. I personally havent tried it that way yet.
Tips:
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best results.
- Make sure the peanut butter is creamy and not chunky.
- You can use any type of chocolate chips you like.
- If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can test the sugar mixture by dropping a small amount into a glass of cold water. If it forms a soft ball, it is ready.
- Be careful not to overcook the sugar mixture, as it will become hard and brittle.
- Let the mixture cool slightly before adding the peanut butter and vanilla extract.
- Work quickly to coat the cereal mixture with the sugar mixture, as it will start to harden.
- Spread the coated cereal mixture out on a baking sheet and let it cool completely before storing.
- Store the puppy chow in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
