Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid any mishaps.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your cake will taste. If possible, use organic or locally sourced ingredients.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake at the right temperature: The temperature of your oven is critical for baking a perfect cake. Make sure your oven is preheated to the correct temperature before you start baking.
  • Don't open the oven door during baking: This can cause the cake to fall. If you need to check on the cake, do so through the oven window.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting: This will help the frosting to set properly and prevent it from sliding off the cake.
