Time 25m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (12 ounce) package angel hair pasta
4 tomatoes, seeded and coarsely chopped
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅓ cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large shallot, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
4 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto, cut into thin strips
¼ cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
¼ cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, or to taste

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Cook angel hair pasta at a boil until tender but still slightly firm, 4 to 5 minutes. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking water for later use. Transfer the drained pasta to a large serving bowl.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the grilled cheese sandwich will be. Look for fresh, ripe tomatoes, flavorful basil, and high-quality prosciutto.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of bread. A classic grilled cheese sandwich is made with white bread, but you can also use sourdough, wheat bread, or even a croissant.
  • Use plenty of butter. Butter is what makes a grilled cheese sandwich golden and crispy. Don't be afraid to use a generous amount of butter on both sides of the bread.
  • Cook the sandwich over medium heat. This will help the sandwich cook evenly and prevent the bread from burning.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you're making more than one sandwich at a time, make sure there's enough space in the pan for the sandwiches to cook without touching each other.
  • Serve the sandwich immediately. A grilled cheese sandwich is best served hot and fresh out of the pan.

Conclusion:

A prosciutto, tomato, and basil grilled cheese sandwich is a delicious and easy-to-make meal. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sandwich that is both flavorful and satisfying. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a comforting dinner, this grilled cheese sandwich is sure to hit the spot.
