Categories     Snacks

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 12 oz bags white chocolate chips
4 c thin pretzel sticks, broken in small pieces
2 c mixed roasted nuts
1 1/2 c holiday m & m's (red and green)

Steps:

  • 1. Line a rimmed cookie sheet with parchment or waxed paper.
  • 2. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water until smooth, or melt in the microwave in a 2 quart glass dish. Microwave on high(100%) for 1 minute, stir, and microwave on high for 1 minute more. If necessary, microwave for 10 seconds more, and stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Stir in the pretzel pieces, nuts and M&M's. Stir will with a flexible spatula.
  • 3. Spoon onto the prepared cookie sheet, spreading the mixure out so that the ingredients are relatively evenly distributed. Allow bark to cool for several hours or refigerate for about 45 minutes, until firm.
  • 4. Break the bark into irregular pieces, like peanut brittle. Store in cookie tins, or package in Chinese food take-out cartons lined with waxed paper

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The quality of your chocolate will greatly affect the taste of your bark. Use a good-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best results.
  • Temper your chocolate: Tempering your chocolate will help it to set up smoothly and give it a shiny finish. If you don't have time to temper your chocolate, you can use a shortcut method by melting it in a microwave on low power, stirring frequently.
  • Use a variety of nuts and pretzels: Feel free to use any combination of nuts and pretzels that you like. Some popular choices include almonds, walnuts, pecans, peanuts, and cashews. You can also use different shapes and sizes of pretzels for a more interesting look.
  • Add some extra flavor: If you want to add some extra flavor to your bark, you can sprinkle it with sea salt, cinnamon, or chili powder. You can also add dried fruit, such as cranberries or raisins.
  • Let the bark cool completely: Once you've made your bark, let it cool completely before cutting it into pieces. This will help it to set up properly and prevent it from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Pretzel nut bark is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth and get a little salty crunch at the same time. With so many different variations, you're sure to find a recipe that you love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack, give pretzel nut bark a try. You won't be disappointed!
