Provided by rrxing

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 package refrigerated biscuits (I prefer frozen Southern Style Pillsbury Grands! biscuits)
1 pound ground maple-flavored sausage
2 tablespoons butter
1 8-ounce block cream cheese, cubed
1/2 to 1 cup milk
Salt to taste
At least 1 tablespoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Prepare biscuits according to package directions. Meanwhile, brown sausage in 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. When sausage is cooked through, reduce heat to medium and add cream cheese, stirring to melt and combine. Add milk to desired thickness (I like a thick gravy, so I usually only use about 1/2 cup). Add salt and pepper and heat until bubbly. Serve over open-faced buttered biscuits.

Tips:

  • Use a box grater to shred the butter for the biscuits. This will create small, even pieces that will distribute throughout the dough more easily.
  • Don't overwork the biscuit dough. Overworking the dough will make the biscuits tough.
  • Chill the biscuit dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the biscuits rise more evenly.
  • Make sure the sausage gravy is hot and bubbly before serving. Cold gravy will not taste as good.
  • Serve the biscuits and gravy immediately. The biscuits are best when they are fresh out of the oven.
  • Conclusion:

These pretty damn amazing biscuits with sausage gravy are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. The biscuits are light and fluffy, and the sausage gravy is rich and flavorful. This dish is sure to please everyone at the table.
