Tips:

  • Sear the meat: Searing the meat before cooking helps to develop flavor and color.
  • Use a good quality pot roast: Look for a roast that is well-marbled with fat, as this will help to keep the meat moist during cooking.
  • Add vegetables: Vegetables add flavor and nutrition to the pot roast. Common vegetables to add include potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions.
  • Use a flavorful liquid: The liquid used to cook the pot roast should be flavorful. Common liquids include beef broth, water, and red wine.
  • Cook the pot roast on low pressure: Low pressure is best for cooking pot roast, as it helps to keep the meat tender and moist.
  • Let the pot roast rest before serving: Allowing the pot roast to rest before serving helps to redistribute the juices and make the meat more tender.
