POTATO BURGER

Potato Burger image

I had some left over potatoes and it was burger night so I thought Why not? My left overs were garlic mashed potatoes. It tastes delish and it does stretch that burger meat. They are a bit soft to handle so if you BBQ I recommend using a griddle under the burger (the ones with the holes) . I enjoy these burgers pan fried. I like this amount for 4 burgers but it will make 6 just increase the number of buns, tomato slices etc.

Tips:

  • For crispy potato patties, ensure that the potatoes are grated finely and squeezed well to remove excess moisture.
  • If the potato mixture is too wet, add more bread crumbs or flour to help bind it together.
  • For a flavorful burger, use a variety of herbs and spices in the potato mixture. Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and chili powder are all good options.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the patties. Give them enough space so that they can cook evenly.
  • If you're using a cheese that melts easily, like cheddar or mozzarella, add it to the burgers towards the end of cooking so that it doesn't burn.
  • Serve the potato burgers immediately with your favorite toppings. Some good options include ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Conclusion:

Potato burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are packed with flavor and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like them simple or loaded with toppings, potato burgers are sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a quick and satisfying meal, give potato burgers a try!
