Tips:

  • Choose the right type of potatoes: Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are the best choices for chowder because they hold their shape well and don't get mushy.
  • Cut the potatoes into uniform pieces: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot: If you add too many potatoes to the pot, they won't cook evenly.
  • Use a good quality kielbasa: A smoked kielbasa will add a lot of flavor to the chowder.
  • Brown the kielbasa before adding it to the chowder: This will help to develop its flavor.
  • Add the vegetables at the right time: The vegetables should be added to the chowder in order of how long they take to cook.
  • Don't overcook the chowder: The chowder should be simmered until the potatoes are tender but not mushy.
  • Serve the chowder hot: Chowder is best served hot, with a side of crusty bread or crackers.

Conclusion:

Potato and kielbasa chowder is a hearty and flavorful soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like your chowder thick or thin, spicy or mild, there is a recipe out there for you.
