I'm not a wine drinker, but I do enjoy sangria in the summer! This is a nice, light and refreshing white wine version and a great patio drink; be sure to serve some of the drunken little fruits with each glass! Prep time includes "sitting time" of sangria.

This sangria, with a base of sturdy Portuguese red wine, has enough heft to accompany complex dishes like arroz gordo from Macau or a big party-size paella. You can temper it by adding 12 ounces of sparkling water to the ingredients after they've been combined.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, ripe fruit. The better the fruit, the better the sangria.
  • Use a variety of fruits. This will give your sangria a more complex flavor.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of wine. Red wine is the traditional choice for sangria, but you can also use white wine, rosé, or sparkling wine.
  • Add a little sweetness. This can be done with sugar, honey, or fruit juice.
  • Let the sangria chill for at least an hour before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve sangria over ice. This will keep it cold and refreshing.

Conclusion:

Sangria is a delicious and refreshing drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. So next time you are looking for a party drink, give sangria a try. You won't be disappointed.
