PORK SAUSAGE AND EGG CASSEROLE

Pork Sausage and Egg Casserole image

This is an easy to prepare, tasty dish using simple ingredients...my family loves it! If you can't find the hash browns with onions already in with the potatoes, just saute 1/3 cup chopped onion and add that to the mix before baking. While I use a 4 cheese blend, cheddar cheese alone would be fine also...the cooked cheese makes a delicious crust in the casserole. Frozen hash browns would work too just thaw them before adding to the mix. Perfect for a brunch, we also love it for supper too!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality pork sausage: This will ensure that your casserole is flavorful and juicy. Look for sausage that is made with fresh, ground pork and spices, and avoid sausages that are made with fillers or preservatives.
  • Don't overcook the sausage: Overcooked sausage will be dry and tough. Cook the sausage until it is just cooked through, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This will add flavor, color, and nutrients to your casserole. Some good choices include onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and spinach.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different cheeses: There are many different types of cheese that can be used in a pork sausage and egg casserole. Some popular choices include cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Try different cheeses to find the one that you like best.
  • Serve the casserole immediately: This is when it will be at its best. If you need to make the casserole ahead of time, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. When you're ready to serve, reheat the casserole in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven until it is heated through.

Conclusion:

Pork sausage and egg casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It is perfect for a crowd, and it can be made ahead of time. With a few simple tips, you can make sure that your pork sausage and egg casserole is perfect every time.
