1 boneless pork shoulder butt roast (4 to 5 pounds)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 medium onions, quartered
3/4 cup cider vinegar
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
14 hamburger buns, split
1-3/4 pounds deli coleslaw

Steps:

  • Cut roast into quarters. Mix brown sugar, salt, paprika and pepper; rub over meat. Place meat and onions in a 5-qt. slow cooker., In a small bowl, whisk vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and seasonings; pour over roast. Cook, covered, on low 6-8 hours or until meat is tender., Remove roast; cool slightly. Reserve 1-1/2 cups cooking juices; discard remaining juices. Skim fat from reserved juices. Shred pork with two forks. Return pork and reserved juices to slow cooker; heat through. Serve on buns with coleslaw.

1 1/2 pounds pork boneless shoulder roast, trimmed of fat
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 cup)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
15 sandwich buns, split

Steps:

  • Cut beef and pork into 3-inch pieces. Place beef, pork and remaining ingredients except tomato paste and buns in 4- to 5-quart slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  • Remove beef and pork from cooker, using slotted spoon; place on cutting board. Strain liquid in cooker and return cooked vegetables to cooker. Shred meat, using 2 forks. Return meat to cooker. This is my Aunt Lorraine's recipe. She has been making it forever!!! Great when you have leftover pork roast! But if you truly want the flavor saute the onions,celery,and pepper in the pan you made the pork roast in.It is THE best barbeque recipes I have ever eaten. Freezes wonderfully too!

3 to 4 lb pork roast or
1 1/2 lb ground beef
2 medium yellow onions chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped
2 stalks celery chopped
1 20 ounce bottle of ketchup
1 can(s) tomato soup
1/2 can(s) water
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • 1. If you are making a pork roast cook it long and slow. 325 degrees for 4 hours covered, wait till it cools then shred it.
  • 2. If you are making the beef just brown it.
  • 3. Saute with a little bit of butter, the onions, pepper, and celery. Just until soft.
  • 4. In a medium pot add all other ingredients, then add your cooked vegetables and the meat.
  • 5. Cook on low for about an hour and you are done!!

1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon salt (for the sauce)
