2 cups chopped plums
1 cup chopped onion.
2 cloves garlic minced
1/4 tsp chili powder
3 cups water
1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
Dash or two of hot sauce (more if you want it spicier)
1 tablespoon molasses
1 cup brown sugar (depends how ripe your plums are (mine were still pretty tart)., more or less)
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Salt
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika

Steps:

  • Cook onions and garlic until they start to soften. Add plums and all other ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer on low until plums are soft. About 20 minutes.
  • Use immersion blender and blend until smooth. Or if you don't have one, let sauce cool then blend in blender until smooth.

1 tbsp molasses
1 tbsp dijon mustard

1/2 cup pitted and sliced plums
3-6 chipotles in adobo (depending on spiciness preference)
1 tbsp adobo sauce from can of chipotles in adobo

4 pounds fresh plums, pitted and quartered
1 small onion, quartered
1 garlic clove, peeled
3-1/2 cups sugar
2 cups cider vinegar
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • In a blender or food processor, process the plums, onion and garlic in batches until smooth. Transfer to a Dutch oven. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until reduced by a third, 60-90 minutes., Carefully ladle hot mixture into hot sterilized half-pint jars, leaving 1/4-in. headspace. 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 (1-inch) piece peeled ginger, grated
4 plums, sliced
1 teaspoon five-spice powder
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
2 pork tenderloins, silver skin removed
Vegetable oil
2 tablespoons grill seasoning
1 tablespoon ground coriander

Steps:

  • Heat a grill pan, broiler or grill to high heat.
  • Heat the sugar and water in a medium pot over medium-high heat. When the mixture reaches a bubble, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the ginger, plums and five-spice powder. Simmer for 10 minutes, then stir in the lemon juice. Remove from the heat and let cool for about 5 minutes. Add the plum mixture to a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Pour into a medium bowl and stir in the hoisin sauce. Reserve.
  • While the plums are cooking, put the pork tenderloins on a sheet pan and coat with oil, grill seasoning and coriander. Grill, or broil 6 inches from heat, until just firm, about 20 to 22 minutes.
