1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons whiskey

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a 9-inch baking dish.

  • Combine the butter, cream, sugar and whiskey in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a low boil. Pour a small amount over the individual servings of bread pudding.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of bread: For a richer flavor and texture, use a combination of different types of bread, such as white, wheat, and sourdough.
  • Don't over-soak the bread: The bread should be just moist enough to absorb the custard, but not soggy.
  • Use a flavorful custard: The custard is what gives bread pudding its rich, creamy flavor. Use a recipe that includes plenty of eggs, milk, sugar, and spices.
  • Add mix-ins: To make your bread pudding even more delicious, add mix-ins such as raisins, nuts, chocolate chips, or fruit.
  • Bake until golden brown: The bread pudding should be baked until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
