PINEAPPLE CILANTRO LIME MARGARITA

Pineapple Cilantro Lime Margarita image

On a recent trip to New Orleans, I got a delicious margarita at El Gato Negro in the French Quarter, a Pineapple Cilantro Lime Margarita. I had to come home and try and recreate it since it's a bit of a hike to NOLA from Ohio! While it may not be exact, I find this to be very close and VERY good! Perfect for a hot summer day!

Time 5m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup pineapple chunk
1/8 cup cilantro leaf
1 cup ice, crushed
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup tequila
1 cup triple sec
1/4 cup superfine sugar

Steps:

  • Soak pineapple in tequila, if desired.
  • Add pineapple chunks, cilantro leaves and ice to pitcher.
  • Add lemon, lime and pineapple juices and stir.
  • Add tequila and triple sec.
  • Stir or shake for 60 seconds.
  • Sugar rims of glass if desired, use lime juice or pineapple juice to wet the rim for extra flavor.
  • Serve into glasses, over ice if desired.
  • Drink immediately and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe pineapple: The riper the pineapple, the sweeter and more flavorful your margarita will be.
  • Use fresh lime juice: Fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor to the margarita. Avoid using bottled lime juice, as it can be bitter.
  • Use good quality tequila: The tequila is the main ingredient in the margarita, so it's important to use a good quality one. Look for a 100% agave tequila that is at least 80 proof.
  • Don't overshake the margarita: Overshaking the margarita will make it watery and dilute the flavor. Shake it just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Serve the margarita immediately: Margaritas are best served immediately after they are made. The ice will melt and dilute the flavor if you let it sit for too long.

Conclusion:

The pineapple margarita is a refreshing and flavorful cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you're looking for a delicious and festive drink, give the pineapple margarita a try!
