Categories     Fruit Breakfast

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c buttermilk
1 c vanilla yogurt
2 tsp vanilla
2 scoops vanilla flavored whey protein powder
1 large can(s) crushed pineapple with juice
2 c ice cubes (or use frozen fruit instead: such as frozen bananas, peaches, or strawberries)

Steps:

  • 1. Add all of your ingredients into your blender pitcher.
  • 2. Blend on high until all ingredients are well blended and smooth.
  • 3. This will make a full blender pitcher. The number of servings will depend on how you serve it. My husband and I have tall "to go" beverage containers with straws. This will fill up both of our beverage containers, with a touch left to "top it off" for the first one that gets back to the blender.
  • 4. If serving in glasses, pour up and garnish with fresh fruit, if desired. Serve immediately.

CARROT-PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE

Carrot-Pineapple Smoothie image

The combination of beta-carotene packed carrots and vitamin-rich pineapple is a delicious and healthy one in this refreshing smoothie. Freezing carrot juice cuts out adding regular ice cubes, and we love using dried dates as a natural sweetener.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 2h5m

Yield 1 serving

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup carrot juice
1/2 cup packed fresh chopped pineapple (about 4 ounces)
1/4 cup lowfat buttermilk
2 Medjool dates, halved and pitted
Pinch ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Pour the carrot juice into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid, at least 2 hours.
  • Put the pineapple, buttermilk, dates, carrot juice ice cubes and cinnamon into a blender. Blend on high until smooth, turning off the blender and pushing down on the ingredients with a spatula or wooden spoon as needed to help the blending process. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water if needed to adjust consistency.

Tips:

  • For a thicker smoothie, use frozen pineapple and buttermilk.
  • Add a scoop of protein powder or Greek yogurt for an extra protein boost.
  • If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to regular milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
  • For a sweeter smoothie, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup.
  • Garnish your smoothie with fresh pineapple slices, mint leaves, or a sprinkle of chia seeds.

Conclusion:

The pineapple buttermilk smoothie is a delicious and refreshing way to start your day or refuel after a workout. It's packed with nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, and calcium, and it's also a good source of protein and fiber. With its creamy texture and tangy flavor, this smoothie is sure to become a favorite.
