Time 10m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (6 ounce) container vanilla yogurt
1 cup pineapple chunk, frozen (you could use fresh pineapple or pineapple from the can as long as you freeze it)
1 1/2 ripe frozen bananas, peeled and cut in chunks
1/2-3/4 apple, peeled and chopped (preferably green)
1 -2 tablespoon Kahlua
3/4 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup ice cube, crushed
1/4 cup toasted pecans, chopped, for topping (optional)
sweetened whipped cream, for topping (optional)

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to blender except for the pecans and sweetened whipped cream.
  • I like to add all the liquid ingredients first and then the frozen on top; I find that it blends together easier.
  • For even a thicker smoothie, add more ice.
  • Divide among glasses.
  • Top each serving with toasted pecans and sweetened whipped cream, if using.

Tips:

  • Use fresh fruits: Fresh pineapples, apples, and bananas add the most flavor and nutrients to your smoothie. If you don't have fresh fruit on hand, you can use frozen fruit instead.
  • Adjust the sweetness: If you find that your smoothie is too tart, you can add a little bit of honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar to sweeten it up. You can also add a few drops of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
  • Make it creamy: If you want a creamier smoothie, you can add a scoop of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or avocado. You can also use unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk instead of regular milk.
  • Add some protein: To make your smoothie more filling and satisfying, you can add a scoop of protein powder, peanut butter, or chia seeds.
  • Garnish your smoothie: For a finishing touch, you can garnish your smoothie with a sprinkle of granola, chopped nuts, or fresh berries.
