1/2 cup diced green pepper
3-4 cloves garlic minced
1 lb ground beef
1/3 cup vino seco ((dry cooking wine))
6 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste ((start with 1/4 teaspoon then adjust from there))
1/4 cup Spanish olives cut in half
2 tablespoons raisins ((or more to taste) optional)

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions and green peppers and, sauté for 2-3 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Next, add ground beef and cook, breaking the meat apart, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Reduce the heat down to medium-low.
  • Stir in cooking wine, tomato sauce, cumin, oregano, and, salt + pepper to taste. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until fragrant and saucy.

1 medium yellow or white onion, finely chopped (about 1 cup)
1 small red bell pepper, cored and seeded, finely chopped (about 3/4 cup)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
4 medium cloves garlic, finely chopped (about 4 teaspoons)
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons dried oregano
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 bay leaves
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup diced canned tomatoes
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup raisins
1/2 cup pimento stuffed olives plus 2 tablespoons brine
2 tablespoons capers
1 large waxy potato (such as Yukon Gold or red about 8 ounces), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch cubes

Steps:

  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add onion and bell pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 5 to 7 minutes. Add tomato paste, garlic, cumin, oregano, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, and bay leaves and cook until fragrant and tomato paste darkens in color, about 2 minutes. 1 lb hamburger must be 80/20 or better (can also use ground turkey)
1/4 c tomato sauce
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c chopped green pepper (bell pepper)
2 pinch oregano, dried
1 whole bay leaf
1/2 tsp cumin
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1 medium spanish onion (chopped)
1/2 c green sliced olives
1 medium tomato (chopped)
1 Tbsp powered garlic or 2 cloves (minced)
1 Tbsp oiive oil
salt to taste
black beans to top your picadillo
1 can(s) black beans
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 sliced green pepper
1/2 spanish onion sliced (like onion rings look)
1/2 tsp cumin
1 Tbsp garlic minced

Steps:

  • 1. Dice up onion, green pepper,and tomato's put in pan with 1 Tablespoon olive oil. when tender, add oregano,cumin tomato sauce bay leaf and stir well.
  • 2. Put heat on high and add hamburger as meat browns add raisins,olives,and cook until meat is done,(DO NOT STOP STIRRING)
  • 3. When meat is cooked add vineger. I serve mine with white rice and black beans.

½ bunch cilantro

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef in a Dutch oven or large pot over medium-high heat until crumbly and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Pour off any excess grease, then stir in the onion and garlic; cook for 2 minutes before adding the red pepper, green pepper, raisins, olives, tomato paste, water, and cilantro.
