PEPPERONI BREAD ROLL

Pepperoni Bread Roll image

This quick and delicious pepperoni roll is so good. It's a little different than you'd expect. The texture of the bread after it bakes is similar to a firm biscuit. Olive oil and cheese on top add a nice crisp. The inside is full of ooey, gooey cheese and pepperoni. Add as much or as little as you'd like; the more cheese the...

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 13

DOUGH
2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1/4 c vegetable oil
2/3 c milk
FILLING
pepperoni
shredded mozzarella cheese
TOPPING
Parmesan cheese
olive oil

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. On a cookie sheet spray non-stick oil/butter.
  • 2. MIx all ingredients for the dough together until you get a nice firm ball.
  • 3. Roll out with a rolling pin. (I did not have to flour the surface or pin because of the oil in the dough).
  • 4. Put desired amount of cheese and pepperoni on top of dough.
  • 5. Roll up the dough.
  • 6. Pinch the ends.
  • 7. Brush with olive oil then top with Parmesan cheese.
  • 8. Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool then slice. *Optional: Serve with a side of marinara.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will greatly impact the taste of your pepperoni rolls. Use fresh, flavorful pepperoni, a good quality bread dough, and a flavorful pizza sauce.
  • Don't overstuff the rolls: If you overstuff the rolls, they will be difficult to roll up and they may burst open during baking. Aim for about 1/2 cup of filling per roll.
  • Bake the rolls until they are golden brown: This will ensure that the rolls are cooked through and that the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before slicing: This will help to prevent the cheese from oozing out.
  • Serve the rolls warm: Pepperoni rolls are best served warm, so they can be enjoyed at their peak flavor.

Additional tips:

  • You can use any type of bread dough for these rolls, but a pizza dough or a bread dough made with Italian herbs will give them the best flavor.
  • If you don't have time to make your own dough, you can use a store-bought dough. Just be sure to let it rise according to the package directions.
  • You can also use any type of pizza sauce for these rolls, but a homemade sauce will give them the best flavor.
  • If you don't have pepperoni, you can use any other type of sliced meat, such as ham, sausage, or bacon.
  • You can also add other toppings to these rolls, such as diced onions, green peppers, or mushrooms.

Conclusion:

Pepperoni rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. They are perfect for parties or potlucks, and they are also a great way to use up leftover pizza dough. With so many different ways to make them, you are sure to find a recipe that you love.
