Steps:
- Cook the penne according to the package instructions. Strain the water and set aside to cool, or run under cold water.
- In a large bowl mix the rest of the ingredients. Fold in the penne until the pasta is completely mixed inches.
- Enjoy!
Tips:
- Choose the right tuna: Opt for tuna packed in olive oil or water for a healthier option. Avoid tuna packed in vegetable oil, as it contains unhealthy fats.
- Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs like parsley, basil, and cilantro add a burst of flavor to the salad. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but reduce the amount by half.
- Don't overcook the pasta: Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, but be careful not to overcook it. Al dente pasta is the perfect texture for this salad.
- Let the pasta cool completely: Before adding the pasta to the salad, let it cool completely. This will prevent the salad from becoming watery.
- Use a light dressing: A simple vinaigrette dressing is the perfect complement to this salad. Avoid using heavy dressings, as they will overwhelm the other flavors.
