Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- On rack of a large broiling pan arrange bacon slices in one layer and cook in middle of oven 10 minutes, or until it just begins to turn golden. In a small bowl stir together sugar and chili powder. Remove pan from oven and sprinkle bacon with sugar mixture and pecans. Return pan to oven and cook until bacon is crisp and browned, about 5 minutes. Transfer bacon, praline-sides up, to paper towels to drain.
Tips:
- Choose high-quality bacon. Look for thick-cut bacon that is evenly marbled with fat. This will ensure that the bacon cooks up crispy and flavorful.
- Don't crowd the bacon in the pan. When cooking the bacon, make sure to leave some space between each slice. This will allow the bacon to cook evenly and prevent it from steaming.
- Cook the bacon over medium heat. This will help to prevent the bacon from burning.
- Flip the bacon halfway through cooking. This will ensure that the bacon cooks evenly on both sides.
- Drain the bacon on paper towels. This will help to remove excess grease from the bacon.
- Chop the bacon into small pieces. This will make it easier to incorporate into the pecan praline mixture.
- Use a good quality chocolate. The chocolate is a key ingredient in this recipe, so it's important to use a chocolate that you enjoy the taste of.
- Press the mixture firmly into the pan. This will help to ensure that the bars hold together when they are cut.
- Chill the bars before cutting. This will help to make them easier to cut into clean slices.
Conclusion:
Pecan Praline Bacon Bars are a delicious and unique treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like your bacon crispy or chewy, these bars are sure to please. So next time you're looking for a sweet and savory snack, give Pecan Praline Bacon Bars a try!
