Yield 7-8 pints

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 cups finely chopped pecans
4 cups sugar
1 pinch salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons vanilla

  • Stir in vanilla.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh pecans. If you only have access to store-bought pecans, toast them in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes before chopping.
  • Don't overmix the filling. Overmixing can result in a tough, rubbery pie.
  • For a perfectly smooth filling, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve before pouring it into the pie crust.
  • If you don't have a pie plate, you can use a 9-inch springform pan.
  • To prevent the pie from cracking, place a sheet of aluminum foil under the pie plate before baking.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will allow the filling to set properly.
