4 cups pecan halves
2 refrigerated pie crusts

Steps:

  • Remove pie crusts from the refrigerator and let rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350º F.
  • Stack one refrigerated pie crust on top of the other and roll to an 18"x13" rectangle. Transfer pie crust to a 12"x17" jellyroll pan. Trim to a 1" overhang and tuck overhang under. Crimp pie edges and place in the freezer.

1-1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups cold butter, cubed
FILLING:
8 large eggs
3 cups sugar
3 cups corn syrup
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 cups chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans.
