Tips:

  • Soften butter and cream cheese: Softening the butter and cream cheese to room temperature will ensure that they mix together smoothly and create a creamy base for the cookies.
  • Use high-quality chocolate: The quality of the chocolate chips will greatly affect the flavor of the cookies. Opt for high-quality, semisweet chocolate chips for the best results.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough before baking helps to firm it up and prevent it from spreading too much in the oven. This results in thicker, chewier cookies.
  • Bake the cookies until the edges are golden brown: The cookies are done baking when the edges are golden brown and the centers are set. Overbaking can dry out the cookies.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving: The cookies need time to cool completely before serving so that they can set and develop their full flavor.
