PEAR AND ALMOND CREAM PIE

Pear and Almond Cream Pie image

A different take on a pear pie, using sweet almond paste (marzipan) in the cream filling. The almond flavor delicately compliments the pears, without too much sweetness. Select pears that are 'just' ripe, not too firm or too soft.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe but firm pears: Overripe pears will turn mushy in the pie, while unripe pears will be too hard. Look for pears that are slightly soft when you press them gently.
  • Peel and core the pears before slicing them: This will make it easier to slice the pears evenly and prevent the core from getting into the pie.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the pears: This will help to prevent the pears from bruising and will also make it easier to get even slices.
  • Don't overcook the pears: Overcooked pears will become mushy and lose their flavor. Cook the pears just until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
  • Use a pre-made pie crust: This will save you time and effort, and it will also ensure that the pie crust is cooked evenly.
  • Don't overfill the pie crust: If you overfill the pie crust, the filling will spill out and the pie will be difficult to eat.
  • Bake the pie at a high temperature: This will help to create a golden brown crust and a bubbly filling.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving: This will allow the filling to set and the pie will be easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Pear cream pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy filling, flaky crust, and sweet and tart pears, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give pear cream pie a try.
