HONEY PEANUT BUTTER POPCORN BALLS RECIPE - (4/5)
Provided by gwendee1
Number Of Ingredients 3
Steps:
- Pop popcorn. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the peanut butter and honey. Stir continuously as it cooks. Once well blended, immediately pour over popcorn evenly. Gently mix with a spatula until well coated. Using a large spoon, drop heaping spoonfuls (about 2 Tablespoons) of the popcorn mixture in rows on the baking sheet. Press each pile of popcorn mixture firmly into a one-inch ball. Let cool completely before serving.
Tips:
- Use fresh popcorn for the best results. Stale popcorn will be tough and chewy.
- If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can test the sugar syrup by dropping a small amount into a glass of cold water. If the syrup forms a soft ball, it is ready.
- Be careful not to overcook the syrup. If it gets too hot, it will become hard and brittle.
- Work quickly when shaping the popcorn balls. The syrup will start to harden as it cools, so you need to get them formed before it gets too thick.
- If you want to make the popcorn balls extra special, you can add in some chopped nuts, dried fruit, or candy.
Conclusion:
Peanut popcorn balls are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover popcorn. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and crunchy snack that the whole family will love. So next time you have a hankering for something sweet, give peanut popcorn balls a try!
