PEANUT BUTTER SWIRL BARS
This is one of my husbands favorite recipes to whip up and give to new neighbors, take to a pot luck, or hoard at home with a bowl of ice cream.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream together peanut butter, margarine, brown and white sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Sift or mix together flour, baking powder and salt and add to mixture.
- Spread in a greased 9x13 pan and sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
- Bake for 3 minutes.
- Remove pan and swirl melted chocolate chips through peanut butter mixture with a butter knife. We make it look like a huge serpentine snake going through the mixture, as opposed to circle swirls.
- Return pan to oven and bake 15 minutes more.

Steps:
- in lg bowl beat peanut butter, butter, sugars until creamy - beat in eggs & vanilla - in sm bowl combine flour, baking powder & salt - blend into peanut butter mix - spread in 13" x 9" x 2" pan. - sprinkle choc chips over surface - bake 5 mins - swirl chips into batter - bake 30 mins
Tips:
- Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth swirl.
- If the peanut butter is too thick, you can microwave it for a few seconds to soften it.
- Be sure to cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Divide the batter in half. Add the peanut butter to one half and mix until well combined.
- Pour the batters into the prepared pan, alternating colors.
- Swirl the batters together with a knife or toothpick.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
