PEANUT BUTTER KRISPIES

Peanut Butter Krispies image

This recipe was handed down from my great-grandmother. I'm not sure when traditional marshmallow krispie treats came on the scene, but this recipe could have preceded it! These are what I grew up on. I do not like marshmallows, so I find this recipe to be perfect. You can also top with melted chocolate if you like. Original recipe calls for 1 cup sugar, but I found it to be too sweet, so I cut it in half. You may wish to add more.

Tips for Making Peanut Butter Krispies for Dogs:

  • Use natural peanut butter: Avoid peanut butter that contains added sugars or salt, as these can be harmful to dogs.
  • Choose unsweetened cereal: Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes are good options.
  • Make sure the honey is pure: Avoid honey that contains added sugars or other ingredients.
  • Do not use butter or oil: These can make the treats too greasy and unhealthy for dogs.
  • Store the treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator: They will last for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Peanut Butter Krispies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that your dog will love. Just be sure to follow the tips above to make sure they are safe and healthy for your furry friend. Remember, moderation is key when giving your dog treats. Even healthy treats should be given in small amounts, as too many can lead to weight gain and other health problems.
