I had a friend in Middle School named Maral who was from Iran, and her mom always made really cool snacks for us whenever we got home from school. This was one of my favorites!

Time 5m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 bagel, split in half (You can also use toast if you want)
smooth peanut butter
honey

Steps:

  • Cut bagel in half and toast each side of the bagel until golden brown.
  • While the bagel is still warm slather on some peanut butter on each side; the peanut butter will soften quite a bit (warning: MESSY!).
  • Drizzle Honey on top of the peanut butter then do the same thing to the other side of the bagel and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe pears: Firm but ripe pears are best for this recipe. They should yield to gentle pressure when squeezed.
  • Use good quality peanut butter: A natural peanut butter without added sugar or oil will give you the best flavor.
  • Toast the bread: Toasting the bread will help it to hold up to the toppings and prevent it from getting soggy.
  • Be generous with the toppings: Don't be shy with the peanut butter, honey, and pear slices. The more toppings, the better.
  • Serve immediately: These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh. If you need to make them ahead of time, assemble them just before serving.

Conclusion:

These peanut butter, honey, and pear open-faced sandwiches can be made with just a few simple ingredients that come together in minutes. They’re a delicious and satisfying snack or light meal that’s perfect for any occasion.
