1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) butter, melted
2 cups pretzel rods, crushed into crumbs
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

  • In a medium bowl, add the melted butter, pretzel crumbs, confectioners' sugar and 1 cup of the peanut butter and stir together until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9-by-13-by-2-inch baking dish. Combine the chocolate chips and the remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate and peanut butter are melted and smooth; two intervals should be enough. Time 10m

Yield 12-15 treats, 4-5 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 cup peanut butter (I used creamy Skippy)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
0.5 (5 ounce) bag hershey's milk chocolate chips
24 -30 small pretzel twists (I like Snyder's)

Steps:

  • Stir powdered sugar and peanut butter together until combined. This will take some time and a little elbow grease but it will come together eventually.
  • Melt the chocolate chips. I put mine in a glass Pyrex measuring cup and microwave for 1 minute, stir, and microwave 30 seconds more.
  • Sandwich about 1t. of the peanut butter mixture between two pretzels.
  • Dip in melted chocolate (I use a fork to fish the pretzels out and bang off the excess chocolate).
  • Let set up for several hours (overnight is best). Don't freeze as the peanut butter filling will cause the chocolate to sweat when they thaw out.

Tips:

  • To easily remove the peanut butter from the spoon, spray it with cooking spray before scooping.
  • If you don't have a piping bag, you can use a resealable plastic bag with the corner snipped off.
  • If you're short on time, you can use store-bought chocolate chips instead of melting chocolate.
  • For a fun twist, try using different types of pretzels, such as mini pretzels or flavored pretzels.
