Time 2h45m

Yield about 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 5

16 black tea bags
1/2 cup sugar
1 large ripe peach, halved, pitted and cut into 1/4-inch-thick wedges
1 lemon, halved
1/2 small bunch mint, torn into pieces

Steps:

  • Brew the tea: Bring 8 cups of water to a boil and as soon as it does, remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags (don't squeeze them) and let the brewed tea cool to room temperature.
  • Meanwhile, make simple syrup: Bring 1/2 cup of water and the sugar to a boil, stirring, until all of the sugar is dissolved. Pour into a large pitcher and let cool to room temperature.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Arrange the peach wedges on the grill on cook until nicely charred, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Grill the lemon halves, cut-side down, until charred, about 3 minutes.
  • Add the grilled peach wedges and mint to the simple syrup in the pitcher. Squeeze in the juice from the grilled lemons. Use a potato masher or muddler to smash the peach wedges and mint really well. Pour in the cooled brewed tea, stir to combine and then refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours. (The longer it sits the more the flavors will develop.) Serve over ice.

ALCOHOLIC SWEET PEACH TEA

Alcoholic Sweet Peach Tea image

A fresh, peachy sweet tea that's perfect for hot summer days. I am definitely NOT a fan of sweet or flavored tea, but I came up with this concoction on accident, and LOVE it. Remember, the amount of alcohol you want to use is up to personal taste. I personally use a little more vodka than peach schnapps. I just like a touch of the peach flavoring.

  • Choose a good quality peach schnapps: The quality of the peach schnapps will greatly affect the taste of the iced tea. Look for a peach schnapps that is made with real peaches and has a good flavor.
  • Sweeten the tea to your liking: The amount of sugar or honey you add to the iced tea is a matter of personal preference. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste.
  • Chill the tea before serving: Chilling the tea before serving will help to bring out the flavors of the peaches and the peach schnapps.
  • Garnish with a peach slice or a sprig of mint: A peach slice or a sprig of mint will add a nice touch of color and flavor to the iced tea.

Peach schnapps iced tea is a refreshing and flavorful summer drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a cool and refreshing drink, give peach schnapps iced tea a try.
