PEACH COFFEE CAKE

Peach Coffee Cake image

This is my mom's recipe for coffee cake. She uses fresh peaches, which are definitely better, but I like this cake too much to restrict it to the summer. Increase the brown sugar to 1/2 cup if using fresh peaches.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe peaches: Using ripe peaches will ensure that your coffee cake is bursting with flavor. Look for peaches that are slightly soft to the touch and have a sweet aroma.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough coffee cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a bundt pan: A bundt pan is the traditional pan for coffee cake. It allows the cake to rise evenly and provides a beautiful presentation.
  • Make sure the streusel topping is crumbly: The streusel topping is what makes coffee cake so special. To ensure that it's crumbly, use cold butter and flour. You can also use your fingers to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Bake the coffee cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This is the best way to ensure that the coffee cake is cooked through.

Conclusion:

Peach coffee cake is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With its tender crumb, sweet peaches, and crunchy streusel topping, it's sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special breakfast or brunch recipe, give peach coffee cake a try. You won't be disappointed!
