Tips:

  • Choose fresh, tender pea pods and carrots. Look for pea pods that are bright green and have plump, firm peas inside. Avoid pods that are yellowed or have brown spots. Carrots should be firm and smooth, with no blemishes or cracks.
  • Wash the pea pods and carrots thoroughly. Rinse them under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. You can also use a vegetable brush to gently scrub the carrots.
  • Trim the pea pods and carrots. Cut off the ends of the pea pods and remove the strings from the sides. Trim the ends of the carrots and peel them if desired.
  • Cook the pea pods and carrots until they are tender but still slightly crunchy. You can boil, steam, or stir-fry them. If you are boiling or steaming the vegetables, add a little salt to the water to help them retain their color and flavor.
  • Serve the pea pods and carrots immediately. They are best enjoyed when they are fresh and hot. You can serve them as a side dish or as part of a main course.
