Tips:
- Use stale bread: Stale bread absorbs the custard better, resulting in a richer, more flavorful bread pudding.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough, dense bread pudding. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Use a variety of bread: For a more complex flavor, use a variety of breads, such as white, wheat, and rye.
- Add mix-ins: For a more decadent bread pudding, add mix-ins such as chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit.
- Bake the bread pudding in a water bath: Baking the bread pudding in a water bath helps to prevent the top from becoming too brown and crusty.
- Let the bread pudding cool before serving: Let the bread pudding cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the bread pudding to set.
