PEANUT BUTTER AND APPLE SANDWICH
My kids love to spread peanut butter on their apples, so one day I thought I would take a favorite of theirs and just tweak it a little bit....voila, a peanut butter and apple sandwich. PB and J can get boring after a while and this provides a healthy alternative.

Steps:
- Mash it together.
- Be sure an adult is nearby to help.
- Put the cream cheese, vanilla and honey in a bowl. Using a fork, mash together until smooth. This could take a minute or two.

- Lay each quarter on its side and cut away the tough, papery core and seeds.
- Cut each apple quarter lengthwise into thin slices.
- Spread the bread.
- Using a table knife, spread the peanut butter on one slice of bread. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the second slice of bread.
- Build the sandwich.
- Cover the peanut butter with a layer of apple slices, and top with the second bread slice, cream cheese side down. (If you have extra apple slices, serve them alongside the sandwich.)

PEANUT BUTTER AND APPLE SANDWICH
I like this recipe because it replaces high sugar jams with something that is healthy and has fiber. It gives a crunch to pb sandwiches. It is something different to try and not feel quilty about.

Tips:
- Use ripe and crisp apples: This will ensure that your sandwich is flavorful and not mushy.
- Toast the bread: Toasting the bread will give it a nice crispy texture and help it hold up better to the peanut butter and apples.
- Use a generous amount of peanut butter: Don't be shy with the peanut butter! A generous amount will help to hold the sandwich together and make it more satisfying.
- Slice the apples thinly: This will help them to fit into the sandwich more easily and will also make them more tender.
- Add a sprinkle of cinnamon: Cinnamon is a classic flavor pairing for apples and peanut butter. A sprinkle will add a warm and inviting flavor to your sandwich.
- Serve immediately: This sandwich is best served immediately after it is made. The apples will start to brown if you wait too long.
