Time 55m

Yield 2 loaves, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
4 very ripe bananas
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2-1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix dry ingredients.
  • Mix butter, bananas & eggs.
  • Mix dry ingredients into banana mix and stir in nuts.
  • Bake 40-45 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make your bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a loaf pan that is at least 9x5 inches: A smaller pan will result in a loaf that is too thick and dense.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This usually takes about 1 hour.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing: This will help prevent the bread from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Paula Deen's Banana Nut Bread is a classic recipe that is easy to make and always a hit. With its moist, flavorful crumb and crunchy pecan topping, this bread is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. Whether you're a seasoned baker or a beginner, you'll love this recipe. So next time you have some ripe bananas on hand, be sure to give it a try!
